Lofty 305 killed an 8-track EP entitled DILDOSNIPER, calling on PXSH6XD, Poshstronaut, BABEO BAGGINS, and ISSUE to help him cover up the crime. By manipulating vocals (including his own) into certain textures, requisitioning their force to the instrumentals, Lofty manages an instrumental experiment throughout the EP.

He does, in fact, have four entirely instrumental tracks”VULANi”, “SLANGINYAY ”, “WATER TOWER WITCH”, and “COKEY SHORES GOON”, some of which harness the power(s) of vocal samples. By reducing every sound to being instrumental in nature, Lofty focuses on the textures of his tracks, expanding the range of feelings he explores throughout his work.

This EP explores the force of sound on listeners. Lofty opens (accompanied by PXSH6XD) with flat, short, jutting, shaking drums (a jazzy-breakdown). With Babeo, he slows down airy vocals to contrast the rapidly-shifting spaces between sounds, a metallic hiss piercing listeners. “VULANi” brings us to the Sahara with snake-handling hand-drums, chants dancing around mystically. Lofty follows this up with a cocaine-driven chase set in motion by a synth organ. “LOFTY 3 OH FOKKIN 5” then slows down to a haunt, creeping twinkles plucking away at shining tramps and expanding claps. The following track shifts around the cries of a woman, icily calling out over a bass strumming into explosive drums. ISSUE helps with “LATE NITE PUSSY LURK MUSIK”, trying to be a fairytale theme song, very much remaining a sexual advance with flat voices narrating sexual prospects. Lofty closes out with a short static loop, hazy, breaking down to haunt listeners with more death-organ.

Although Lofty doesn’t always need voices in order to create unique textures on his work, when he does, it’s always to exhibit how they can be transformed into texturized instruments. The twisted Dos Equis of sound experimentation. Lofty explores shapes and eras with this EP, using 8 tracks to filter sounds and voices, examining a range of flatness, musical depth, and warped statics.
